How Can I Keep Focused On What I Want, Feeling What I Want 24/7

In the contemporary age, where life is full of various kinds of distractions, which can take your mind off from your goal, finding your focus and staying focused on a particular thing is almost a novelty. It is easy for your attention to drift away to several other things and you have to fight with yourself to regain your focus. Nothing worthwhile in life can be achieved easily or will be offered to you on a silver platter. The same holds true for focus. You have to make that effort to stay focused on what you want and keep thinking about it on and off. But focus won’t come automatically to you; you have to strive for it.

For e.g. if you want to focus on your work or studies, you have to create a perfect and peaceful surrounding or atmosphere that is conducive to your line of work, if you wish to stay focused for long periods. Such an environment will be free from distractions which can play havoc with your concentration.

Let me tell you one thing. Psychological studies have proved that human attention span is pretty short and an individual can stay focused on a particular work or piece of study for a maximum period of 24 seconds before his attention wavers. The trick is to let your attention waver and then bring it back on your work firmly so that you can keep focused on what you want. Don’t let your attention stray for long periods.

Before getting down to work or study or whatever it is you wish to do, take 3 deep breaths and then release your breath slowly. You may also try out meditation to improve your focus, but it is easier said than done. It takes a lot of practice, iron determination and self will to turn your mind absolutely blank.

To improve your concentration and stay focused on what you want and feel what you want, 24/7, you have to banish all kinds of negative thoughts, negative emotions, negative influences from your mind and life. You have to learn how to be at peace with yourself. Only then, will you be able to direct more focus on what you want.

Frequent breaks and smaller tasks which are more interesting and appeal to your taste will improve your focus. Clear away the clutter from your mind, start enjoying life, feel proud of who you are, enjoy what you wish to do – you will then be able to focus on what you want and feel what you want 24/7.
